The car I hear referred to the most is the Mazda 6. Everyone seems to love those.
The Mazdaspeed 6 is on the short list of cars I'll buy next, but I'm not sure if I want to sell my soul to the premium fuel gods again.

Four doors, 274hp, AWD, 6 speed manual? The only thing NOT to love is the premium gas and poor AWD milage.

I'm not a fan of 4 doors in general. The 6 is one of the few exceptions, and probably the only truly sporty one.

I went for straight, you went for sarcastic (since you're on the rag today). But we're saying the same thing. But somehow you've got this running through your brain:

Proof positive that you are, in fact, on the rag. Quite how you manage it with your panties so tightly wadded at the same time is beyond my comprehension.

Alright, if someone wants to play Doofy to Dakar translator, feel free to jump in here. Feels like every time I ask Doofy a question it somehow devolves into him trying to insult me.

I love the speed6 (and the speed3) but don't let the premium fuel gods fool you, they are very nice people! They have treated me well , your talking about literally 3.60$ more full fill up. and we all know why there is turbo lag....to let V8's catch up.

Beat me to it, if you want to say the Japanese cars are boring and state the examples as the camry, accord, and corolla. You must then compare them to some "american" cars Malibu, Cobalt, Taurus, and Focus. Now come on, if you want to compare the SRT-8 Challenger, your competition stiffens, the S4, GTR, and the Lexus IS-F. Now thats not even a competition.

I get what you're saying though, 4-bangers have no torque....wait a second!

2008 Subaru WRX STi 2.0L Horizontally opposed 4 cylinder 304HP 311lb/ft

Well there you go, Durango boy, proof that you indeed suck at realizing a good car (for a damn good price) when you see it. I don't blame you since you are, in fact, Durango boy.

okay laminar, I'm sorry for posting unrelated pics in your motorcycle thread. Let's talk about fast cars again.

ctt1wbw, srsly almost every car produced over the last few years can do 120mph. Maybe not the uber-gas conscious crowd of cars but most sedans, SUVs, sports cars will all do 120. Hitting a top speed of 120mph is absolutely no real feat at all.

GETTING THERE QUICKLY IS THE TRICK.

This guy's car will be pulling liter bikes. Line up next to a bike, even a 600 and see where you stand!

The car should trap in the quarter mile at around 145-150 mph. How fast is your Durango going after 1/4 of a mile? I'll answer: probably 83-87 mph if it's lucky. Coincidentally, that's about where my very mundane SENTRA is. (and most of the other average cars built from 2000-2008.

wanna race??

Oh, and the last time I drove in a Jeep Cherokee, about 4 years ago.. my friend rented it and we were on the highway, banging the rev limiter at a governed 107mph. It was hilarious, I couldn't catch my breath I was laughing so hard. BAP BAP BAP BAP BING BAP BAP BAP BAP. That's what it sounded like. Fun times, but not really exciting.

Also, comparing ANY SRT vehicle and a CAMRY??? C'mon, that's ridiculous.

Good work.
Exactly what i said, any car can do 120, its about how fast you get to 120.
I'm also up for a race againist that nasty V8 Durango, i'm sure my little 4 -banger (turbo stage 2) can keep up.

B. I insulted someone else and you misconstrued it as being aimed at you

Not to mention the mind boggling MPG you can achieve if you lighten your foot up a bit. Then they turn from econo-boxes into rockets on command.

Question, the GTi MKV...is that with the 6 or the Turbo 4?

Ok, then yes, you misconstrued it. I don't think anyone would recognize that as a Doofy post because of the use of the word "homey" and the mention of a Skyline.

My response to him was serious – I figured you might be sensitive enough to something I said to think I was trying to insult you when I wasn't. Sadly, I didn't realize that's what the 'pansies' swing was all about.

Anyway, if you don't believe a word of this (and I doubt you will) I ask that you report the offending post. If a mod actually thinks I was trying to insult you, I'll take the infraction for it.

Coupled with some limo tint and gutter guard grill mesh, you have a car that "terrorized" the local streets when I was in high school.

I'll accept your explanation, even though it did seem like your usual 1-2 with Lamer.

But why would my use of the word "homey" be unusual? Do a search - I use it reasonably regularly.

I accept that you probably can't remember previous mentions of my homey's Skyline though - it was a while back. Got into an argument with Ca$h about the existence of four-door Skylines - homey in question bought one for his Mrs., so I knew they existed. She had the R33 four-door, he has the R32 GTR. At one point it used to be just under 800 BHP - a real scary monster. It's 2 BPP (blokes pushing power) right now since Skylines don't like much above 550 and they get real expensive to fix when a heavily modded engine blows.

We cool?

I'll also accept that I haven't read all your posts, and definitely have missed stuff – but then again my joke wasn't dependant on your never having mentioned it, just that the average forum goer wouldn't expect it either.

We're cool. I'll take the blame for this one. I refuse to learn the lesson that your sense of humour and my sense of humor almost never meet.

True, but with 'vettes and their IRS, they usually stick with a drag radial tire to keep from breaking the rear. An inherent problem with drag racing a sports car. Some 'vette guys with big big numbers like this will sometimes ditch the IRS(gasp!) for a solid rear, then slicks are less likely to break anything.

I've posted the blue Z06 before, these guys are cousins. The blue one has broken all manner of C5R rear end parts and other heavy duty rear end stuff trying to drag race his 'vette. He refuses to go solid rear just for drag racing fun, which I agree he shouldn't do. It's one thing if you're "chasing a number" on the dragstrip, but yea.

Quit bickering dudes!
