I've had ZERO problems on either Mac I installed Tiger on. Easiest install/upgrade I've ever had.

You've repaired permissions? What kind of an install did you do?

There are several bugs and annoyances new in Tiger, but the system is rock solid for me, no single crash or kernel panic for me.

BTW, I did an archive and install (as usual) instead of an update install.

My only problem was that I installed the "updated" Application Enhancer before I did an archive and install. It's compatible with Tiger, but not with the installation. It screws up Mail totally. Until I disabled it, I could not transfer my mail from my old account, period, nor pick up mail, or even launch or quit properly.

But given that, I've found Tiger to be rock-solid after that. I remember the panic about Firewire drives after Panther, or the several kernel panics after Jaguar.

Have you guys tired using Grapher, I typed in y=cos(x)^5+sin(x)^5 and then zoom in and then tried dragging the graph....and it died...I think in Tigers things are crashing too easily...

Not happy so far...

i did a clean install (full wipe, and fresh install)

doubt it was a bad install (and i bet it's pretty hard to get that to happen)

and i used macjanitor and also the diskutility thing that comes with the operating system (to verify permissions)

it's not like it does it out of no where, i'm sure something is happening .. just that it didnt happen when i was using panther. hmm will update.

I did an Archive/Install and have experienced one KP at start-up after the 3rd restart of the system. Every since then, it has been absolutely perfect.

iphoto and safari have been crashing on me and in general things feel a bit more sluggish (isn't spotlight meant to be instantaneous? It feels just like a regular search to me, thrashing at my HDD...)

I just did a plain upgrade so if the problems still persist after the 10.4.1 I'll archive and install it over again.
