I guess it was bound to happen! looks like Audiogalaxy has been shut down by the govt. and the RIAA. Sorry I just wanted to vent! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Might I suggest Limewire or eDonkey

Aquisition is going to have a new version soon. Fern isn't bad. Limewire work perfectly although clunky, bad looking, and a bit of a CPU hog. Neo development is comming along. Myster seems to have halted progress a bit.

edonkey doesn't seem to be mac compatible and Xnap is only compatible with OS X. Is there any other mac OS 9 compatible software other than limewire (which crashes frequently)?
thanks

Edonky is Mac compatable, but if by that you mean OS 9 compatable, I can't say. It does work fine on OS X and you should get CocoDonkey as well. That is if you(anyone) can run eDonkey. It is a GUI front end that makes the Donkey much easier.
Northform is usally the final word on stuff, and this is no exception. We have several options available, most he covered. Xnap is ok, about the same as Limewire or Fern. I am unfamiliar with Acquisition and Myster.
My eyes are on Neo, a good idea, a developer hard at work on it and a viable network that the RIAA will have a bitch of a time getting their hands on, as they seem to be playing hardball with them and moving the corporation to some island nation making the lawsuits more diffucult. That is from memory and can be incorrect.

I'm rooting for Kazaa, WinMX, Blubster, or FileTopia to get a Mac port..
but AG had the BEST interface. It was so simple! Search for anything, queue it , and run the satellite to download.
And most of these other services have next to NONE of the BBC radio Comedy or Old Time Radio shows I found dozens of on AG..
to say nothing of alot of the rare 80s and indie rock I searched out.
(currently I'm using OpenNap for Mac, aka Mapigator, Carracho, Hotline, and trying to run the other services on Virtual PC..but none of them make me very happy compared to AG)
