Well, where is it? ThinkSceret.com reported that it should have been released today, and since ThinkSecret has been right enough times to piss off Apple, I believed 'em.
linkination
Anyone else want to guess when it will be out/announced?
Im saying before the end of April (Im agreeing with ThinkSecret again ).

That could be the ugliest code error I've ever seen.

Sheesh, you couldn't even give me a few minutes to fix it?
Anyways, the link has been fixed.
I'll pull a date outta my butt and say Tuesday April 5th.

That's certainly not a date I'd mind...
This said, this is still likely to only be an announcement. There is simply no way they're ready for a full-on release. My guess is that the release itself will be in late April or early May.

Maybe by April 30, just so they get the month right.
I mean, c'mon, the first RC was only seeded a few days ago.

It wouldn't surprise me if Apple pushed the date back a few days just so TS would be wrong. If they did it isn't like they would lose any sales. The same people who are going to buy it on April 1st will buy it on April 5th.

RC1 was 425. AppleInsider claims that the gold master is 428, and Macworld has confirmed that Tiger went gold. Furthermore, piracy has also confirmed it.

I agree it'd only be announcement, but if you believe it's been gold master since yesterday, then perhaps early May for a release seems a bit conservative.
I'm thinking around NAB time.

If it went Gold yesterday, then you have to give them some time to physically manufacture it and get enough invertory to ship it. Give them a couple of weeks. I say the third week of April.

But which 4K78 is it? Is it the normal 4K78, or the ultra debug-code removed uber-4K78? Note to piracy: I'm JOKING

Why do that? Announce dates are almost NEVER the ship date..

NAB begins the third week of April, and extends into the fourth week.

If you mean Macworld UK, they are idiots. They also said Steve claimed that iTunes was written in 2 months from scratch.

They've generally announced it ahead of the ship date in the past.

They said it would go GM today, which it has.

I just hope it is released within whatever window they give you to upgrade for a reduced rate (ya know, for new Mac purchases). I couldn't hold on to my refund check long enough. Couldn't wait for Tiger to be released to buy my mini.

There is no hope for you. Mac discounts always expire before the new products come to the store.

Let's see... it went Golden Master a couple days back, and there's usually a 14 day lag between GM status and boxes on the shelves.
So: announcement 4/5/05
shipping 4/15/05

I think he meant 14 days from date of GM, not the announcement

Still all that we know or sure is Steve's word, Tiger will be released in the first half of 2005. So we know that it will be out over the next three months.
