How much ram do you have, and how much is allocated to quake3?
Also, what card are you using, and what implementation of opengl are you using?

Well make sure you have 15-20 megs after you launch quake, so opengl can load.
Also, how much vram you have, i thought i read somewhere saying you needed the 4 meg addition, to run opengl.

My card has 16 mb on it and I have been able to play quake 3 for about 6 months without any serious problems and now it has crapped the bed, I tryied to go with base extensiosn with no success or with 9.1 all same thing and with VM off. I might have to do a soft were reinstall in the morning. Clueless
