I used to go this really great message board all about anything and everything; nothing specific like computers, but the server wasn't offering it free anymore and it died.
Now, I have no place to go.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a new message board?
I love MacNN, but I need a non-computer board to go to, too.
help.

I would recommend IGN's boards, but they've gone pay as well. Luckily I can still get in. Some suggestions would be music boards, find a band you like and see if they have a good MB. I used to like Weezer and joined their boards, but even after their music wasn't as good I kept hanging around for the people. TV shows would be another good one, I hang out quite a bit on a Futurama board and a Simpsons board. If there's something you like, there's probably a board for it.

Seriously, where else can you just log on and wait for nuggets of wisdom to fall from daimoni? NOT ELSEWHERE, methinks.

I don't know of any just general boards. IRC maybe.
Most boards have generalized subject matter.

You know I like macwrite.com. I go there several time a night, but I was looking for a non-computer board like Cognition used to be.
I miss it.

Check out www.fubarforums.com. It's an anything goes type of place where you won't get banned for saying sh#t and other cuss words and you can speak your peace about pretty much anything...

Anyone that wants, is welcome to use my board while I develop my main site, which will (responsibly enough) be to provide the latest news on Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n'Roll. Also, before the question is asked, the reason the board is up and accessible before the main site is because I wanted to use the board as a design reference of sorts to work off of to match the main site with, so with that in mind, you may want to invite a friend along to chat with .

Thanks, but I'm too old to talk about sex online, I've NEVER done drugs and I prefer country music, mostly.
I think I'll pass, but thanks again for the invite.

never done drugs, prefer to keep sex talk confined to conversation with my wife than anyone else, and I like both kinds of music: country and western!

If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Exactly!
I used to have a bumper sticker just like that. It said:
There are only two kinds of music...
Country and Western.
Works for me.

:o What I meant by saying "news on Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n'Roll" was to provide news that usually doesn't get covered, and not a site actually about Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n'Roll. :o Sorta like providing the bad news of the day instead of all the happy stuff that's on the 5 o'clock news. My bad, but I needed to clear that up.
