Does virtual memory turn off in OS X if there is a certain amount of physical RAM?
Thanks

No, and you wouldn't want it to turn off...VM in OSX doesn't work anything like it does in OS9. Totally different, and totally great.

I was going to explain that, but he didn't ask "why"...

As the others have said, unlearn what you have learned about VM in OS9. It's a totally different beast in OSX, and the performance hit it caused in OS9 is essentially gone now.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask about a program I heard of very briefly once but have never been able to find.
Supposedly there is something for os x that makes your monitor flash or makes a beep or something everytime the system pages out?
I've done searches for this but have never been able to track it down.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)
