In the next few days, Apple will release Mac OS X 10.2.4, again increasing the total amount of updater material.

It's out. Check Software Update.

Just kidding!

In all seriousness, what is this obsession with updates? Do people require having the latest and greatest 3 days before it's released, as some kind of self-validation or something? It'll come when it comes. I learned long ago never to get impatient with Apple, for when you do, the result can be summed up in four characters: 4K78.

It all depends on your definition of "a few days."

I hope that 10.2.4 does one of the following

A) Fixes the sleep bug involved with the Cisco VPN Client (After sleep, can't get a new ip from dhcpclient)

B) breaks the cisco client so bad that they [cisco] have to release an update and hope that they fix the damn bug

You think Apple will EVER fix the issue with 10.2 and FTP, allowing disks mounted by the Finder's FTP to be written to?

why dont you downgrade to the 3.7.0 version and stop worrying about it? its the one that comes with the fancy (slow) gui installer and client anyway.

I'm running 10.2.2 at the moment. I want to go to 10.2.3 so that I can use Virtual PC 6 at what is supposed to be a decent speed (over version 5). However, 10.2.3 makes my iBook suffer a kernel panic everytime I log out. And, because I'm doing a clean install this time around, due to wanting to repartition by iBook's hard drive, I'd like to go straight from an OS that works, to one that works, without having to suffer kernel panics whilst waiting for a fix.

Um... so that's why I'm wanting 10.2.4, before I do iMovie 3 or iPhoto 2 or the like.

Definitely a good reason. I am waiting for 10.2.4 in hope that it will fix the OS X freeze when using Keynote.

The only reason I'm anticipating 10.2.4 is that it might finally support the Audigy and Audigy 2 sound cards.

If true, that would be so sweet. I do miss the Audigy I had in my old PC way back when.
