I did a reinstall of my OSX drive yesterday after hearing that some people got better game frame rates with their GF 4 Ti card after doing so. While I was at it I (on purpose) deleted my 2nd HD of OS9 and left it blank. The only reason I still had OS9 around is because of one of my favorite games (F/A-18 Korea) and it'll be coming out with a OSX version in the next 2 months.

Anyway, what should I do with my now empty 20gig 2nd HD? Any suggestions?

I reformatted my drives HFS without OS9 drivers this time. Will I be needing these for any reason at all now that I'm OS9 free?

Thanks

buy a external case, and turn it into a portable FW drive.

OK, it's been noted but I'm going to keep this drive where it is for now. I do have another 40 gig drive that I'll be pulling from another computer soon so maybe I'll do that with that one.

Thanks for the idea buddy.

You can never have too much drive space; whether or not you plan on using that drive, you'll find a way to use it. Trust me.

Count me in as another vote for turning it into a portable external drive, though. Those things are incredibly useful. You might also consider dedicating the drive for video-capture purposes, if you're into that.

I use my older drive for a quick and dirty daily backup. Has saved me a few times and using Carbon Copy Cloner, it runs automatically early every morning.

The nice thing about this is that Carbon Copy can make a bootable backup. Useful when doing repairs or troubleshooting on the main drive.

I also use another old drive (20 Gig) for my mp3 collection.

Use it for backup.

If you mirror your system onto the second drive, you'll be able to boot immediately if your main drive should malfunction for whatever reason.
