I need someone to tell me with a high degree of certainty whether connecting iSight to iPod gives you a hard drive based camcorder, as was claimed in a local paper. I don't believe it but before I tell them they are wrong I want to make sure.

nope, doesnt work.

As for one, there is question over whether the iPod battery is enough for the iSight too, and then you also need software on the iPod so it knows what a iSight is etc...

Yes, It is a 5400rpm drive I believe... I have edited DV video with it when in a pinch.

The iPod probably does not have enough juice to make this a viable option. Powering the HD as well as the CCD would require too much juice to make a set-up like this last long enough for anything useful.

4200rpm, but yes it's still fast enough for video.
