Honestly, why must game makers "push" the limits to such extremes.
Here's an example:

I feel I have a pretty good system for gaming with a dual 1.3Gig G4 processor and a GeForce 4 Titanium card with 128MB of VRAM on it. Still, some of the new games really push it. I'm not sure it's necessary for these companies to make the requirements so high. Is it just poor programming, specially when it comes to porting over a PC game? I'm certain that a lot of games would look just as good even if they toned it down just a little.
I bought Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 a couple months ago. The recommended requirements are G3/G4 350 MHz or faster, 128MB recommended RAM (256 under OSX), 3D Graphics Acceleration required (AGP video card with 16MB of VRAM required. 32MB recommended). Still, my system can't run everything on high. Do they really even take into account what the majority of gamers are playing on? Just seems so silly.
Yeah maybe this belongs in the Game forum but I think a lot of you Lounge Lizards can relate.
