The trackpad on my main machine, a 15" Al PowerBook is very screwy. It is very difficult to use because it refuses to move at a constant speed. If I move my finger across the entirety of the trackpad at a constant speed, the mouse cursor seems to get stuck in the middle, slowing down dramatically (and moving slightly downwards, even though I am only moving my finger from left to right) and then the mouse accelerates extremely rapidly after moving out of the "dead zone" and flies way too fast (this is the part that makes it the hardest for me to hit my intended target).

I often find myself drastically overshooting items that I try to click on which are far away from the current cursor position, while undershooting closer items.

This is really driving me nuts and I don't know how to fix this. Changing the mouse tracking speed as done nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
