Okay, I downloaded all the files needed to install it. Then I launched up Terminal and typed:

sh install.sh

it asked me if it was ok to install it and I said yes, then it went on installing, but for some reason it wouldn't let it make any files or folders. Is there some way to let it make files?

Try this sudo sh Xinstall.sh, and it will work.

Edit: you don't need to enable root to sudo.

Have you set up root access? You need to go into NetInfo Manager and enable root. Search here for specifics on doing this if you cannot figure it out. Then try the sudo trick above, or type su at the command line to login as root in the CLI. Should work fine.
