This is what I want:

15-20 GB
Equalizer (incl. extra bass)
Longer Battery life (20-30 hr.)
Clock + Timer
changeable battery + harddisk.
Cradle so it looks great on your desk.

and $300-$350 would be nice.

........
I hope that you all react on this.

Oh well.. If you can't beat them.. Join them!

In the iPod 3, I'd like it to have a 100gig drive. A 50 watt amp. Be made of solid gold (Titanium is getting a bit passe now). And be on sale for $100 (About 60). Oh, and a built in solar charger would come in handy too. PLUS! I want to be able to play Gran Turismo 3 on it as well.

You don't think i'm asking too much do you?

Hahaha, this is funny!

I agree with you on everything except for the massive hard drive. Most people won't even use the 5GB (I've only got 900MBs myself), so 15-20 GB might be a bit of an overkill. But maybe as a BTO option, that would be neat. Actually, I'd like if they did that right now. Get it cheaper if you don't need the massive hard drive it's got right now.

To bring this to a real conversation:
Do you think the step after the iPod will be a PDA? I am not sure, but I think it is possible.

Anyway, if there will be an iPod 2, it should have visualization, equalizer, 20-30h of Battery life and an exchangable hard drive at a cost of 250 $. They should put the PDA on 400$ though :-)

15-20GB Harddrive is impossible. unless u are willing to pay more than 500 for your device. Coz that 15-20 GB sub 1.x inch HD doesnt exist yet.

Longer battery Life. well it's always nice to have LONGER battery life, but be reasonable. (20-30 hrs ?)

Clock + Timer I wouldn't mind to have it, but not really necesary though.

Changable battery is nice, but not necessary, COZ why change your battery when you got 20-30 hours of batttery life

$300-$350 .... I think this ipod will become $350 after iPod 2 releases, just face the reality, the harddrive alone already cost you $399 dollars. :o

I don't think the iPod is too expensive right now,
because the hard drive alone is $399, and apple gives an extra MP3 Player and firewire casing for free (nice)..

But it's too expensive for me right now, and by the time I have the money.
it will be march (I am a fotography student and the study is really expensive).

And I dont want to buy it a couple of weeks before a new one is introduced.
I've already bought my iBook 2 months too early (I really like the 100MHz system bus)... So I'll just wait for the iPod 2

(and the changeable battery is handy for when it's broken)
(maybe it's a littlebit overdone, all the things I mentioned would be nice)

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion - Steven Weinberg.

What I expect is there'll be no ipod 2, instead apple should release an API so developers could develope addons for iPod, iPod already got a really impressive UI, which got potential to expand it's feature as something much much more than a mp3 player.

or even better change the firewire port to an expansion port, so external modules could be developed (e.g. Mic, camera ...)

This how I want the iPod v.2 to be

I'm going to be reasonable, so I'll say that it will have a 7gig harddrive
It will include Mac OS 12
It will have an ethernet jack
It will include Windows XP
It will have a 22" fold out LCD screen
It will have a Bose Lifestyle stereo built into it
It will retain it's former styling
It will also include an optional Wilson Hammer 6.2 racquet
It will have a microwave for convient meals on the go
It will have a direct link to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates' cell phone (in case I need technical support)
It will have an Anthrax detector
It will have a built in pencil sharpener
It will include a German:Latin, Latin:German dictionary
It will have a WaterPik thingy for healthy gums
It will have a washer & a drier
It will be able to launch nuclear bombs towards a provided location
It will charge in less than 2 hrs
It will include the bestselling book "You and Your Dog: Proper Canine Instruction"
It will whip up a zesty salsa for your friends
It will turn your television on and off, change channels, and control volume
It will instruct your children on proper etiquette
It will print you money in US Dollars (Euro-Kit and Canadian Dollar-Kit coming soon!)
It will scent the air in your home and remind you of the great outdoors all day!

I'd just like it to have a replaceable battery and a bigger hard drive for a lesser price.
