I have OS X 10.4.7.
I'm trying to log into the latest version of OS X 10.3 Server.

The VPN is set up for both protocols, and both (mine and office) routers officially support both VPN protocols. All the ports are forwarded (per Apple's 'Well-know UDP/TCP ports' document) and I've even done it putting both machines on the DMZ.

Both ways come back with the same error/issue.

My machine, which is connecting through PPTP, hangs on negotiating and then I get an error message. Go to: "http://web.mac.com/the.mac.god/iWeb/Site/Temp.html" to see this error and the one below.

And, on the server side, you can see that it's making contact... but the above link takes you to what the server is saying.

So, why is it making the initial connection fine, but losing it from there? Any ideas? Please help? Thanks!

All as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as Love.

Have you looked at your server's log files? I suggest thinking Unix and getting your head out of looking for stuff in GUIs. As it stands, there are just too many variables to account for her for anybody to be useful, I reckon.

I don't know a whole lot about VPN, but I always thought it was pretty dependent on the router used to control the IP block?

Can you try a 10.3 box? We've been having some issues since 10.4.4 (I think, but I'm not sure). OS X 10.3 installations continue to work just fine though.
