use a firewire cable between the 2.

Reboot your iBook when it's booting up hold down the "t" key to put your ibook into firewire mode.

Boot your imac into the os.

Than connect the firewire cable to each of the computers your imac should mount the ibook hd on the desktop. You can do the same with the imac and mount your imac hd on your ibook desktop.

When your done the file transfer unmount the ibook hd from your imac desktop and unplug the firewire cable. Reboot your ibook (power button) and it will boot into the os like normal.

Rats I wanted to say that!
hehe

and if you can't find a firewire cable you COULD use ethernet, but at the same time... not sure how well that would work.

Assign each man an ip on the same subnet.

(Dosen't that make firewire sound a whole lot easier hehehe) Also firewire transfer rate is very fast!

sorry for the double post.. but i do have a firewire cable. however, the ends on it are different. so, i guess the firewire is out for now. i might take a trip over to my local supplier and get a crossover cable. next, i might need a little networking help.
