I have the newest version of mactheripper and I ripped "Employee of the Month" to my HDD. When I open it in Toast 8 ti. it says the VIDEO_TS folder is damaged and it won't compress/burn.

How can I fix it or solve this problem? I've tried 3 times and the exact thing happens.

Thanks

You'd be better off asking this on the MTR forums.

Try DVD Imager instead and see if that works.

DVD Imager isn't for encrypted DVDs.

I just used it to image an encrypted VIDEO_TS folder that Toast had refused to burn because of encryption.

And it works?

Their website says it is not for encrypted DVDs.

Okay. Now I'm confused.

It's been a couple of days, and ah...weekend was kind of...tough.

hmm.. Lionsgate DVD should be fine, unlike some SONY/Universal DVDs. So you want a full backup of the DVD?

If you're using MTR 3.0 r14d then I'd try a movie only rip to see how that goes. I've had a few DVD's that the actual MTR program suggested to be movie only rips. It's worth a shot and also saves you some money since many "movie only" versions can fit on a single layer DVD with very little or no compression.

I tried making an image of the file, but when in TOAST it said it was too big and wouldn't compress it...

I am trying just the main feature extraction. What does it leave out? It's only 4.91 GB instead of over 7 GB..

It leaves out all the menus and extras.

It also leaves out a lot of the false files and crud that is used to foil DVD copying.

In most cases that means a 90min movie will fit on a DVD5 disc.

Make sure you don't tick the surround sound option as you still only get stereo and it just adds to the size.

See the MacWorld site they have an article on MTR and there are good tutorials in the support section of MTR's site.
I look forward to a future where the present will be in the past.
