I don't really think this is spam, but forgive me if I'm wrong...
Anyway, I've been wanting to get involved with sponsorships for poor children in Africa for years, and my wife and I finally took a major step in getting involved. This step was to partner our Family Foundation with
BrightPoint for Children, and I'm now the Point Person for the
Rhema Kinangop Children's Home in Kenya.
What that means is that I've assumed the responsibility to find sponsors for the children in this home, and the sponsorship will go toward medicine, clothes, food, and school supplies. And over 90% of the donation goes *directly* to assist the Home's efforts.
Anyway, there are 23 kids in total, ranging from 4 to 14 years old -- and I've had BrightPoint leave 6 online for online sponsorship sign-ups. I will find sponsors for the remaining children on my own, personally.
All that said, pop over using the above links and check out what they do for these children. Basic Needs sponsorship is only $39 a month. The motive is simple, and best illustrated here:
Just to be totally transparent, I in no way, shape, or form receive any benefit or
anything for this -- I've just been burdened to want to do something like this for a long, long time, and the door of opportunity opened for me and my wife. Once we have this home fully sponsored, we will begin to assist other homes, organize trips to help build and repair homes, dig water wells, etc., etc.
Anyway, I hope this isn't spam -- it's just something I'm getting involved with, and I thought I'd share an opportunity with my fellow MacNNers in case some of you wanted to step-up and sponsor a child, too. Feel free to email or PM if you have any questions!
