I was running 9.1 before, then upgraded to 9.2b2, then decided to downgrade back down to 9.1. But the only way I could do this was to clean install from the cd, which had 9.0.4. Now, when I try to update to 9.1 it gives me this messge. "This version of Mac OS 9.1 cannot be installed over the CPU specific version of Mac OS that came with your newer compuer." How the heck do I upgrade to 9.1?
Any input ; tips, tricks, hints or anything else that I can do to solve this would be great!
Thanks

It sounds like the 9.1 installer is still seeing the 9.2b install as active. Use Startup Disk to select the new 9.0.4 System Folder. If you cannot select the 9.0.4 System folder, try the utility System Picker to select the 9.0.4 System Folder.
If that still does not work, trash the Finder and System suitcase from the old 9.2b install.

Thanks, but I have already done that, but the updater will still not work. Anything, that I know of, that relates to 9.2 has been deleted and is not on any system folder or other folders. Any more tips anybody?

Was there a ROM update that came with the 9.2? I have 6.1 on my 9.1 partition.
