When I try to use the software update, I get a list with check boxes but no text next to them so I don't know what I'm updating....This has been the case since macos 9 through 9.1 and I recently installed 9.1 on a reformatted disc.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Go into your Appearance panel and make sure the system font is set to a standard font, like Chicago or Charcoal.
