Hi, I just got an old Performa 6360, and was wondering if anyone has had luck installing a CD-R. I understand that the internal IDE only supports one device, and the existing CD-ROM is SCSI. That said, could I then install a SCSI CD-R in the existing bay?

any help or comments are appreciated!

I think you could buy one in an external SCSI case and connect it to the external SCSI port at the back of the Mac. The SCSI port is a narrow (25-pin) one so make sure you get the right cable for it.

Thanks Tin,

Yeah, I'm aware of that. Given how expensive external SCSI drives are, (and SCSI CD-Rs in general) I'm looking to just replace the internal. It's only 8x anyway, and all CD-Rs are faster than that now...

Anyone else with other suggestions?
