Dim monitor screen
Greetings,

I own a Mac 9500 with an ATI graphics accelerator. I have a 15 inch Mac multscan AV
monitor connected to this computer.

I used to use this monitor with a Umax C500.
The monitor screen was brighter with this computer.

Any ideas why the monitor screen is not as bright when I use this monitor with my Mac
9500?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Have you setup your monitor using ColorSync under Monitors and Sound (or under Monitors with MacOS9).

There you can adjust many aspects of your picture including white point and monitor profiles which can affect your picture.

Sometimes when you switch resolutions, the brightness changes as well. I have a 19" Dell monitor and a 17" Apple and they aren't as bright at the highest resolutions as they are at 640 by 480.
