I have a 6100/66 DOS that I got recently. It has a DOS card in it, but I can't figure out how to do anything with it. I see it, I feel it get hot, I see it as a cardin Apple System Profiler, thats it. How do I use it?? Also, it has a RAM slot that physically takes the same size ram as the 6100. IS it the same? Does it have any built in or does it need something in the slot to function?

The DOS Card has a special video port, you need a special cable to connect it to your monitor. Without that video cable, you can't see anything on the screen when you switch to the PC environment.
Also, you need to install the PC Compatibility Software, you can download it from Apple.

Well, not really a special video cable, but a cable that was a Y of sorts, and responded in some way to a command key sequence to switch between your Mac on the monitor and the PC. Unfortunatly, those cables, when found cost as much as an equivelant amount of gold.
I think you can easily connect any old PC monitor to the PC card and the run both at the same time. The command key sequence you use to switch between the two will only switch the keyboard and mouse input between the two systems.

I think you must need that special cable, I nerver see a adapter available for it. Goto eBay and take a look. Good luck.

I have 2 of said cable. I can't use the dos cards anymore because I can't find the software, so I sorta took em apart
If anyone has the software I'd appreciate it.
I'll sell you one of the cables if you want one. I even have 1 or 2 of the adaptors that changes the video from that weird connector to a standard mac monitor plug

Cheap old VGA monitors are a dime a dozen, plus i'd only need it plugged in to set it up... if there was a way I could hook one up to my 6100's card that would be the best options, is this possible?
