The latest <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/270722==http://www.electronista.com/articles/12/10/10/ipad.mini.announcement.anticipated.as.imminent/" rel='nofollow'>iPad mini</a> leak suggests Apple may offer a total of 12 individual configurations in two different colors. A list of SKUs <A href="http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/10/16/ipad-mini-skus-reveal-apple-will-release-12-models-in-two-colors">published</a> by <EmAppleInsider</em> lists models P101, P103, P105 and P107, allegedly differentiating four different storage capacities, potentially ranging from 8GB to 64GB, while "good," "better," and "best" descriptions may point to Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G variants.<br><br>The list later appeared on several different websites, leading to disagreement over the particulars. <em>MacRumors</em> <A href="http://www.macrumors.com/2012/10/16/part-numbers-reveal-apples-plan-for-24-different-ipad-mini-models/">suggests</a> the P101/P103/P105/P107 model numbers likely refer to separate connectivity options, and the "good" to "best" descriptions indicate the storage capacity. Alternatively, <Em>9to5Mac</em> <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/270716==http://9to5mac.com/2012/10/16/apple-to-launch-24-new-ipad-models-comprised-of-ipad-minis-and-perhaps-lightning-ipad-3/" rel='nofollow'>reports</a> that some of the SKUs may be tied to an updated full-size iPad with a Lightning connector.
Apple is said to be preparing to produce the P101 model in the greatest quantities, possibly with a price tag as low as $249 to compete with Android devices such as the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD. The company is expected to formally unveil the device at a <A href="http://www.electronista.com/articles/12/10/12/company.silent.for.rumored.oct.10th.invitation.han dout/">media event</a> next week.
