Hands on: Lenovo 11.6'' Helix convertible ultrabook
Lenovo has continued to explore new concepts for convertible devices, introducing the "rip and flip" concept in its 11.6-inch ThinkPad Helix ultrabook. Electronista took a closer look at the Helix' hinge system, which enables the display portion to be completely removed from the base and flipped between inward- and outward-facing orientations.
We found the Helix to be surprisingly light, weighing in at just 835 grams, however it appears to maintain the same robust construction that can be found in Lenovo's larger notebooks. Despite its small size, the device integrates a display digitizer and includes a stylus that stashes in the housing.

The display is surprisingly bright, and the wide viewing angles of IPS technology can be fully appreciated when using the device in tablet configuration. Lenovo claims the battery lasts for 10 hours, an impressive feat for such a small and lightweight notebook.

Lenovo has yet to announce pricing details for the Helix.
