Lenovo K900, first with Intel dual-core phone CPU
Lenovo has used CES to debut the K900, the first device to feature Intel's first dual-core CPU for smartphones. The chip is the first from the forthcoming Clover Trail+ platform, the Atom Z2580 clocked at a speedy 2GHZ. As it is based on the same architecture as the 2GHz single-core Medfield processor powering the Motorola Razr i, the addition of the second core no more than doubles the performance of the new chip over its predecessor.
The Lenovo K900 also appears to be a genuine powerhouse, given the expected performance of the new chip, which is also paired with 2GB of RAM. It also centers on a Galaxy Note 2-sized 5.5-inch display, although in this instance it is a 1080p IPS LCD. Corning's Gorilla Glass 2 protects this. The rear incorporates a 13-megapixel F1.8 camera (Sony-sourced sensor) with dual flash with a front facing camera with an 88-degree wide-angle capability.

Its slim 6.9mm thin body utilizes a stainless steel alloy frame as well as polycarbonate that is said to boost signal reception thanks to its low magnetic properties. It includes 16GB of storage, although the size of its battery has yet to be detailed. It weighs in at 162 grams, making it quite light for its overall footprint. It is set to launch in China in April.
