Lenovo takes the covers off five new IdeaPhones
Lenovo has revealed five new Android-powered IdeaPhones including the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/277018== http://appserver.lenovo.com.cn/Lenovo_Mobile_Detail.aspx?gdsid=A2500018466" rel='nofollow'>S890</a> flaghship. It has been joined by the introduction of P-series, targetted at professionals and the new A-series aimed at the entry-level. These join the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/277019== http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/01/09/1080p.display.and.atom.chipset/ " rel='nofollow'>K900</a>, Lenovo's oversized 5.5-inch dual-core Intel Atom powerhouse launched earlier this week.<br />

The S890 is 9.3mm thin and centers on a 5-inch qHD Crystal Core HD IPS display with a 178 degree viewing angle. It is powered by a dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, but surprisingly runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, rather than the new flavors of Jelly Bean. It incorporates an 8-megapixel rear camera, as well as a high-resolution 3-megapixel front camera. It manages to pack in a high capacity 2250mAh battery into its frame, but carries a slight weight penalty at 176 grams.

It is joined by the S720, which ratchets down in size to a 4.5-inch 960x540 IPS LCD display, but retains the same 8-megapixel rear camera. The battery is reduced to a, still ample, 2000mAh while it still slips in under 1cm thickness mark at 9.9mm. The P770 will please enterprise with its inclusion of antivirus and security software and also packs in a huge 3500mAh battery for all day email and phone calls.

At the lower end, the A800 still centers on a large 4.5-inch display, but resolution is down to 854x480. It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor, while the entry-level A690 picks up a relatively meagre 1GHz CPU and shrinks its display down to 4-inches with a lower resolution of 800x480. All of the new IdeaPhones are dual-SIM out of the box and will launch in China and selected global markets this month.
