LG Optimus L7 sequel surfaces in Russia
LG looks set to begin the 2013 revamp of its L-series range of entry-level smartpphones. The first to surface is what may be the sequel to the Optimus 7, which has been leaked through Russian website . The Korean archrival to Samsung revealed that it sold 8.6 million Android smartphones last quarter and is aiming to build on that this quarter.

From a tech spec standpoint, the new handset is no Optimus G or Nexus 4. It runs a 1GHz dual-core processor, but centers on a 4.3-inch display. It includes an upgraded 8-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 720p video. LG has packed in a large 2460mAh battery that is said to help keep the device powered over two days. It runs Android 4.1 'Jelly Bean,' and also supports dual-SIM cards.

There are no details on an expected international roll out, although its precedecessor reached a number of markets around the globe. News of the new handset coincides with the return of the LG Nexus 4 to the Google Play store in North America and in other markets including Australia. LG, like Samsung, is following a strategy of making Android smartphones in a range of categories to help broaden its appeal and gain market traction.
