Three models of tablets announced in Archos Platinum line
Consumer electronics manufacturer <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/279320==http://www.archos.com/" rel='nofollow'>Archos</a> has unveiled the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/279321==http://www.archos.com/products/elements/platinum/index.html?country=us&lang=en&slider" rel='nofollow'>Platinum</a> range, a new line of tablets that feature an aluminum design combined with high-definition IPS displays, quad-core processors with an eight-core GPU capable of 1080p decoding, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There will be three tablets in the range -- an 8-inch, 9.7-inch and 11.6-inch model.<br />
All three tablets have an quad-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU, 2GB of RAM, front and back cameras, and Mini-HDMI and Micro SD ports. The Archos 80 Platinum, an 8-inch tablet, features a 1024x768 resolution IPS screen. The 9.7-inch Archos 97 Platinum HD features a 2048x1536 resolution IPS screen, which according to the manufacturer is comparable to the Apple Retina display. The Archos 116 Platinum, an 11.6-inch tablet, features a 1920x1080 resolution IPS screen.
The Archos Platinum 80 and Archos 97 Platinum will be available this month for $199 and $299 respectively. The Archos 116 Platinum will be available in April for $349.
