Limited-edition Sega-branded notebooks go on sale in Japan
Game producer Sega has started to sell limited edition branded notebooks. The range of four notebooks, sold in partnership with Japanese retailer Enterbrain, have lid designs that resemble consoles from the company's history, namely the Sega Saturn, the Dreamcast, and the Mega Drive, as well as a fourth that matches the blue in Sega's logo.
Four different levels of hardware specifications will be available to customers. The Light version has a 2.4GHz Intel processor with 4GB of RAM, Intel graphics, a DVD burner, and 500GB of storage, while the Premium level uses a 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 with 8GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce 650M graphics, a Blu-ray drive, and a 120GB SSD for storage. All versions, including the in-between Standard and High-Spec options, run Windows 8 as the operating system, and also have 15.6-inch full HD screens, Ethernet, video out, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and Kingsoft Office 2012 preinstalled.

Despite the external decoration, the machines will not come preloaded with classic Sega games, according to Retro Collect, though they will have various wallpapers and sounds included. The lids can also be bought separately, allowing users to change what is installed on the notebook.

Only 50 units of each model will be made available in Japan, and will cost between 99,750 yen ($1,070) and 194,250 ($2,100). A release in other regions is unlikely.
