LG officially reveals 4G LTE-enabled Optimus F5, F7 phones
LG has formally unveiled two smartphones in its Optimus line, both with 4G LTE connectivity. The Optimus F5 and Optimus F7, leaked yesterday <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/279649==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/02/20/front.face.of.lg.smartphones.shown.on.twitter/" rel='nofollow'>over Twitter</a>, are mid-range and high-end offerings respectively, with the F7 having the larger 4.7-inch True HD IPS display while the F5 uses a slightly smaller 4.3-inch IPS counterpart. <br />
The F5 uses a 1.2GHz dual-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM, houses a 5-megapixel camera on the rear accompanied by a 1.3MP front-facing version, and is powered by a 2,150mAh battery. The Optimus F7 increases the processor to a 1.5GHz dual-core chip with 2GB of RAM, the battery is expanded to 2,540mAh, and the rear camera is upped to 8MP. Both have 8GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 32GB via microSD, and operate under Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
The preinstalled software includes the multitasking Qslide, which allows for two applications to be opened at the same time in full-screen mode, as well as Live Zooming, a feature last seen on the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/279650==http://www.electronista.com/articles/12/09/18/lg.optimus.g.with.quad.core.snapdragon.s4.pro.due. november/" rel='nofollow'>Optimus G</a>, which will allow users to zoom into specific areas of a video. QuickMemo, Qtranslator, Video Wiz, Safety Care and other items are also included.
LG will be rolling out the Optimus F5 in Europe starting in the second quarter, followed by the F7 in selected markets. Pricing has yet to be announced.
