Huawei unveils Ascend P2 with quad-core CPU, 150Mbps LTE
Following accurate leaks, Huawei has formally unveiled its Ascend P2 smartphone. Labeled the "world's fastest 4G LTE smartphone," the Android-based P2 is said to be one of the first smartphones to arrive on the market with LTE Category 4 support for theoretical maximum download speeds of up to 150Mbps.

The Android handset integrates a slightly smaller display than the company's flagship D2 phone, which was unveiled last month at CES with a five-inch screen, though the P2's 4.7-inch in-cell touchscreen maintains a pixel density of 315 PPI with a 1280x720 spread for native HD playback. With an 8.4mm-thick build, the P2 appears to lack a microSD slot but integrates 16GB of storage and a 2420 mAh battery to help power its quad-core 1.5GHz processor. Huawei has also focused on photography, adding a 13-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor and a dedicated camera button. The P2 is expected to arrive in the second quarter, though pricing details remain unclear. |
