Newer boosts capacity of Guardian MAXimus RAID line to 2TB
Accessory and storage solution manufacturer <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Newer Technology</a> announced that is has added a 2TB, 7200RPM model to its line of Guardian MAXimus mini portable solutions. Featuring dual 2.5-inch 1TB SATA hard drives or OWC Mercury Electra 3G SSDs, the bus-powered Guardian MAXimus mini is now available in six models that are test-certified for video capture and playback without dropping frames through its eSATA and FireWire 800 interfaces.<br />

With a "quad interface" of FireWire 800/400, USB 3.0, & eSATA connections and set either in a hardware RAID-1 redundancy or RAID-0 speed mode, the Guardian MAXimus mini offers Mac and PC users data transfer speeds up to 300MB per second.

The new 2TB model with a pair of 1TB drives Guardian MAXimus mini is <a href="" rel='nofollow'>now available</a> at OWC for $298. All connection cables and a drive utility software bundle are included with the device.

It has USB 2, not USB 3.

No back. We have been told that the new version is USB 3.0.

Actually, the Newer Technology Guardian Maximus Mini has USB 2.0. The Newer Technology Guardian Maximus has USB 3.0. Check Newer's website.
