Facebook reveals updates to News Feeds, updates layout
Facebook has revealed its new News Feed, introducing a number of new feeds alongside what is currently used. The new feeds are also joined by a new look for stories in the feed itself, with the same "mobile-inspired" design appearing on desktop, tablet, and smartphone versions of the site, as well as its mobile apps.

The new feeds, expanding on the existing "close friends" and "games" listings, consist of posts with more of a focus on accompanying images. All Friends will show everything that friends are sharing, while Photos shows just images from friends and liked pages. A Following feed will show news from pages and people the user follows, and a Music feed will be full of music-centric updates.

Icons to the left of a post will show what individual users have commented about updates, while the feed itself will also start to offer posts and content from pages and other users that the reader either has not befriended or liked. These recommended posts will be based on what the social network thinks the reader would enjoy seeing based on what others that they know or have similar interests to are reading, and is likely to be powered by the same back-end as Facebook's Graph Search.

The new Feed options will be available starting from today, though for a small number of users. While it will be rolling out over the next couple of weeks to all users, interested parties can add themselves to a waiting list for earlier access.

Does it respect
your current privacy settings? The description seems to indicate it does not. If it doesn't, I may have to divest myself of this increasingly annoying tool. :P
