Kohler adds Bluetooth, SD card slot, touchscreen to Numi toilet
Plumbing equipment manufacturer Kohler has announced an upgrade to the Numi Comfort Height toilet. Added to the receptacle are a Bluetooth 4.0 receiver, a SD card slot for accessing personalized playlists and ambient light customization. Kohler's most advanced toilet now includes an interactive LCD touch-screen interface, built-in personalized bidet functionality and deodorizer, dual-flush technology with 0.6 or 1.28 gallons per flush, proximity based auto-open and -close lid, and a heated seat and foot warmer.

The new additions to the device include the Bluetooth receiver for users to stream audio directly from mobile device, added ambient lighting options allowing users to choose to cycle through all seven colors or pick a color specific to each day of the week, use of the SD card slot for selection of a custom playlist or personalized welcome greeting, and the addition of a USB port for easy installation of software patches. A user-accessible battery pack allows the toilet to flush normally up to 100 times in the event of a power outage.

The toilet retails for $6,000 in premium Kohler showrooms. Installation and delivery are not included in the price.
it looks so good
you'll have it installed in a glass-walled room at the front of your house...

I'll take laxatives to sit on this thing more often. Apr 19, 2013 11:01 AM
OK, $6000 for toilet and the price does not include delivery and installation? The toilet is perhaps the only place left where we are not connected electronically and can think on our own. This takes away that too :-)

No thanks.

Wow . . .
How can you *not* love a story that includes the phrase, "Kohler's most advanced toilet..." Maybe, unlike Homer Simpson thought, they're NOT years ahead of us. :)

Should be great for those people who always wanted to live in a bathroom.

Downfall of civilization
Thanks to Japan's penchant for auto-flush, seat warmers, and lids that raise themselves with a motion sensor, I'm used to seeing things like this, although Kohler is taking it to a whole new level.

Personally, I think when your toilet has become an electronic entertainment center and requires electricity to function, you're just doing your part to bring about the end of civilization. Seriously, it's a toilet! If there is any device in the modern home that should not need electricity 24/7, it's the toilet!

It has a battery backup
in case the power goes out. :D

Imagine the angst when you
discover that using the toilet trips the circuit breaker.
