Panasonic reveals Lumix G6 mirrorless, LF1 compact cameras
Panasonic has revealed a pair of new cameras in the Lumix line. The Lumix DMC-LF1 is a 12-megapixel compact camera with built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, while the Lumix DMC-G6 is a 16-megapixel Micro Four Thirds shooter capable of a high-speed burst mode at 7 frames per second, and a half-second booting time.

The Lumix LF1 boasts an F2.0 Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens and a 1/1.7-inch high-sensitivity MOS sensor, which has a 7.1x optical zoom that is the 35mm equivalent of 28-200mm. The combined Wi-Fi and NFC operates a "Touch & Share" feature that allows the camera to be connected to a smartphone or tablet, to transfer images or use the mobile device as a remote control. The LF2 is able to record 1080i video at 50 and 60fps in AVCHD and MP4, a built in active optical image stabilizer helps smooth out shots and avoid blur, and a three-inch 920k-dot LCD is on the back for framing and image playback.

The sensor inside the Lumix G6 is similar to that of the GH2 and GH3, namely a live MOS sensor, which is paired with a new Venus Engine for signal processing with advanced noise reduction, and is capable of shooting at ISO25600. In order to perform its 7fps burst fire, the G6 has a Light Speed AF, along with a newly-integrated low light AF. On the back is a three-inch, 1036-dot flip-out touchscreen display, which is paired with a 1,440k-dot OLED live viewfinder, and the G6 is also capable of shooting 1080p video at 60fps in AVHCD Progressive and MP4.
Panasonic has yet to reveal pricing or release dates for the Lumix LF1 and G6.
