HTC clarifies Nokia injunction as against mic, not HTC One
HTC is planning to change its source of microphones for the HTC One once its existing inventory has run out, following Nokia's recent court action in the Netherlands. A statement from the manufacturer seeking to clarify the injunction filed by Nokia explains that the injunction isn't against HTC itself, but is against a component supplier in the Netherlands called STM.

The injunction prevents STM from selling specific microphones to anyone other than Nokia for a limited period of time. As HTC purchased the microphones "in good-faith," the attempt by Nokia to recall the sold microphones from HTC failed, which provides HTC a buffer while it transitions to "improved microphone designs."

It is stressed in the statement that the injunction does not prohibit the sale of the HTC One with the high-amplitude microphone, and that Nokia's action was purely against STM as a supplier and not HTC as a manufacturer.
HTC really needs the HTC One to succeed, after the delayed device reportedly cost the company profits in its quarterly results. Marketing efforts, including the Live Experience Tour in the US, have been helped by reviews of the Samsung Galaxy S4, where reviewers have actively compared the two devices, and in some cases, outright recommending the HTC One over Samsung's effort.
