Glass to gain third-party Twitter client, Google teaches Glass use
Google Glass will have at least one app for it upon its consumer release, following reports that a Twitter client is being worked on for the device. The news of the app comes at the same time as the search company releases a video explaining to future users how to use the wearable computing system, with a heavy emphasis on controls via the touchpad.

Initial reports by TechCrunch found messages on the microblogging service sent from an app titled "Twitter for Glass," later confirmed as real by LeWeb founder Loic Le Meur to CNET. At first, it was believed that Le Meur's comments were an indication it was an official Twitter app, but he later clarified by saying it was a third party app called GlassTweet.

The Google-produced Glass tuition video covers the absolute basics of the device. Positioning and adjusting the device, along with placement and usage of the touchpad to navigate, are covered. Swiping the touchpad, located on the right-hand supporting arm, towards the face shows more cards in the past, like messages and social updates, while swiping behind brings future items, such as appointments. Tapping the touchpad wakes Glass, while swiping down performs the double duty of returning users to the timeline and setting Glass into standby mode.
While developer editions are slowly shipping, consumer versions are not expected until possibly next year. More details about future Glass plans are expected to be announced at the Google I/O developers conference in May.
