Acer unveils Aspire R7 with Ezel hinge, floating touchscreen display
<a href="http://macnn.com/rd/284866==http://us.acer.com/" rel='nofollow'>Acer</a> has revealed a new notebook with a floating touchscreen, one that it <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/284867==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/04/22/second.hinge.allows.for.display.to.hover.above.key board/" rel='nofollow'>previously teased</a> alongside <em>Star Trek</em> footage. The Aspire R7 holds its 15.6-inch 1080p multitouch display on an "Ezel" hinge, allowing it to be viewed in the normal notebook way, lying flat on a table, flipped to face away from the user, and also closed with the display facing out and making it resemble a tablet. <br />
<br />
Inside the Aspire R7 is a low-voltage Intel Core i5 processor running at 1.8GHz, accompanied by 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and 24GB solid state drive for storage, and four Dolby-powered 8-watt speakers which automatically reverse depending on the orientation of the screen. Around the casing are audio jacks, three USB ports, HDMI, and a converter port that supports VGA, Ethernet and USB, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth add to the connectivity options.<br />

The Aspire R7 will be available to purchase through <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/284868==http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&ks=960&st=Acer_Aspire_Eze l_Hinge_106353&sc=Global&cp=1&sp=&qp=q416365725f41 73706972655f457a656c5f48696e67655f313036333533~~ca bcat0500000%23%231%23%231~~cabcat0502000%23%231%23 %231~~ncpcmcat247400050000%23%230%23%231&list=y&us c=All+Categories&nrp=15&fs=saas&p=[promotion%2C+synonymns]&_D%3Ap=+&pu=defaultusr&_D%3Apu=+&pt=1367730001&ih t=n" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">Best Buy</a> on May 17th for $1,000, with additional models to be announced in the coming weeks.
