MSI reveals Intel 'Haswell' gaming notebook ahead of Computex
With Computex Taipei just over a week away, MSI has taken the covers off its latest gaming notebooks packing Intel's next-generation 'Haswell' silicon. Heading up the range is the 17.3-inch GT70 Dragon Edition 2 that will feature a quad-core fourth-generation Core i7 processor. Graphics processing is powered by Nvidia's GeForce GTX780M and is good for a 3DMark Vantage score of 36,000.

As with previous G-Series MSI gaming notebooks, the new GT70 Dragon Edition 2 comes with SteelSeries gaming keyboards that can process up to 10 simultaneous hits. Storage its highlighted by SSDs set up in a RAID O array, while the high performance theme is further exemplified by its ability to support up to three external monitors, in addition to its own 16:9 1080p display. The alloy chassis helps to keep the GT70 Dragon Edition 2 down to a respectable 6.3 pounds (2.9kg).
The new GT70 follows yesterday's reveal by MSI of its GX70 and GX60
portable gaming rigs, which sport AMD's latest 'Richland' silicon. They, like the GT70, sport a Blu-ray drive, three USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI 1.4 out, mini DisplayPort, VGA and THX certified speakers. Both the Intel-powered GT70 Dragon Edition 2 and the AMD-powered GX70 and GX60 will be available from June, with pricing details to follow.
