BlackBerry Q5 spotted in FCC filing equipped with AT&T 3G connection
The <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/287251==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/05/14/q5.mimics.general.design.of.q10.heads.to.emerging. markets/" rel='nofollow'>BlackBerry Q5</a>, the cheaper alternative to the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/287252==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/01/30/remember.function.collects.information.for.project .management/" rel='nofollow'>BlackBerry Q10</a> that is destined for emerging markets, could be heading to the United States soon, according to an FCC <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/287253==https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout =500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=657920&fcc_i d=L6ARFS120LW" rel='nofollow'>filing</a>. A device matching the appearance of the BB10 OS smartphone has been spotted in the listing, suggesting it may make an appearance in the US after all. <br />

While a device going through the FCC could just be for it's approval for roaming in the country, <em>Engadget</em> <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/287254==http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/07/blackberry-q5-att-3g-fcc/" rel='nofollow'>notes</a> that its 3G radio is compatible with AT&T's network, at 850 and 1900MHz. If it does end up appearing in the US, the filing strongly suggests AT&T as it's most likely first port of call. <br />

The Q5 has a similar design to the QWERTY-equipped Q10, matching its overall shape and 3.1-inch touchscreen display. While it has been revealed by BlackBerry itself, not much of the internal specifications have been revealed, but since it will be released in July in parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America first, it will be a cheaper device and in turn will likely have lower specifications than the Q10. It has been confirmed that it will be available in a choice of colors, including black, white, red, and pink.
