Yahoo buys GhostBird Software; dev's apps disappear from App Store
Canada's GhostBird Software is closing its doors following a buyout by Yahoo, and has already pulled its apps from the iOS App Store, according to an announcement. The company says that its workers are being folded into Yahoo's Flickr team. GhostBird is known for a camera app, KitCam, and PhotoForge, an image editor dating back to 2009.

The apps should remain functional if already installed, and can be re-downloaded through iCloud. It's not clear what the GhostBird staff will be doing at Flickr; the company does say, though, that it's "thrilled to be able to bring our technology and passion for beautiful photos to the Flickr team," which presumably means that features of KitCam and/or PhotoForge will appear in future iterations of the Flickr iOS and Android apps.
