Possible prototype, camera faceplate images for 41MP Nokia EOS surface
New photographs appearing to show a prototype version of the Nokia EOS smartphone have been uncovered. The images, featuring a phone that may be a pre-production model, is accompanied by a seemingly-complete metal camera faceplate, complete with company branding and an engraving stating it will be a 41-megapixel camera.

The images from Sina Weibo, while showing off what appears to be a metallic phone casing, doesn't seem to match previous leaks. The holes inside the camera compartment do not correlate with earlier images, while the contacts for wireless charging also appear to be missing. If it is part of the Nokia process, it is likely to be a test device, rather than a final production item.

The metal camera cap has holes in the right positions to match earlier photos, along with correct text placement. While the apparent all-metal construction in the full-handset images may not happen, a metal camera cap with a polycarbonate body could certainly work as a design choice for the Nokia EOS, though full details about the device will not likely be revealed until closer to Nokia's New York event on July 11th.

Earlier rumors suggested it would have a 2,000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 720p AMOLED display and a possible initial launch in the US on AT&T.
