Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III leaks
The Android 4.2.2 test firmware for Samsung's Galaxy S III has leaked to the Internet, signaling that a final update for the Samsung handset may not be to far off in the future. Devoted Samsung site SamMobile acquired the leaked firmware, and the site notes that it is definitely in an unfinished state. The update is still under testing, and it may see release from Samsung in July or August of this year.

The 4.2.2 update will bring to the S3 an unlock screen similar to that seen on the Galaxy S4, with varying effects available, as well as the ability to change the clock size and set a personal message. It will also bring actionable notifications, with users able to reply to messages or delete them from within the notification tray.

The update will also see the addition of Voice Controls, full-screen Samsung apps, and a new S Voice program on par with that seen in the Galaxy S4. It will also add features such as Driving Mode and DayDream.

The pre-release version of the firmware is available for download [zip file], but interested users are warned that as a prerelease build it may interfere with the normal functionality of their devices.
