LG to expand Optimus G Pro availability to 40 more countries in Q3
LG will be <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289804==http://www.lgnewsroom.co.kr/contents/14373" rel='nofollow'>launching</a> its <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289805==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/02/25/full.hd.55.inch.display.snapdragon.600/" rel='nofollow'>Optimus G Pro</a> smartphone in 40 new countries in the next quarter. The flagship LTE smartphone, having reached <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289806==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/06/18/lg.optimus.g.pro.reaches.1.million.south.korean.sa les.in.four.months/" rel='nofollow'>1 million sales</a> in LG's native South Korea and gone on sale in the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289807==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/02/18/lg.optimus.g.pro.55.inch.display.400ppi.snapdragon .600/" rel='nofollow'>United States</a>, will be made available in parts of Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Commonwealth of Independent States in the next few months. <br />
<br />
The Optimus G Pro uses a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which is supported by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. On the front is a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display with a 2.1-megapixel camera, while a 13-megapixel shooter resides on the back, with both cameras able to record video simultaneously. LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an infrared transmitter are also included. <br />
<br />
While the smartphone will be appearing in a large number of countries in a short space of time, <em>Engadget</em> <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289801==http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/16/lg-optimus-g-pro-due-in-40-more-countries/" rel='nofollow'>reports</a> that it will not be appearing in the United Kingdom, likely due to the relatively-undeveloped LTE phone networks in the country. LG has also teased a replacement to the Optimus G range, said to be the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289802==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/08/lg.g2.name.hinted.at.by.exaggerated.letters.in.ima ge/" rel='nofollow'>LG G2</a>, which could be unveiled at a launch event in New York on August 7th, which may potentially slow sales of the Optimus G Pro despite the wider availability. <br />
<br />
The LG Optimus G Pro is on sale in the US <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/289803==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/05/01/discounts.on.200.up.front.charge.for.phone.trade.i ns/" rel='nofollow'>on AT&T</a> for $100 upfront on a two-year contract, or $550 off-contract. It should go on sale in the new markets for a similar price.
