Redbox, Vimeo, HBO to support Chromecast, phone streaming app created
The <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Google Chromecast</a> will be receiving more support in the future, with reports of Redbox, Vimeo, and HBO preparing to take advantage of the device. The possible new additions come at the same time as a developer shows off a way for smartphones to directly share images and video with the streaming dongle. <br />

<em>GigaOm</em> <a href="" rel='nofollow'>reports</a> that Vimeo has informed the site that it will be supporting Chromecast in the future, and says that it has learned through other sources that Redbox Instant will also make an appearance. A spokesperson for the Plex media center revealed that Plex developers are "actively investigating and optimistic" about Chromecast, strongly suggesting it will support it. <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Files</a> discovered by a contributor <a href="" rel='nofollow'>of</a> <em>GTVHacker</em> also places HBO GO on the platform in the future, with a HBO spokesperson confirming "We are talking to Google but have nothing definite to offer on timing." <br />

At the time of <a href=" bile.devices.computers/" rel='nofollow'>launch</a>, Google touted its YouTube, Google Play, and remote Chrome tab projection features of the Chromecast. While apps from Netflix and Pandora were confirmed, the search giant also offered software development kits for Android, Chrome, and iOS, in an effort to add its functionality to more apps. <br />

Developer Koushik Dutta revealed in a Google+ <a href="" rel='nofollow'>posting</a> that he has created a Chromecast app that sends images and movies "at full framerate" to the dongle from a smartphone or tablet. While he has created a video demonstrating the app, as well as looking towards sending music files and playlists, Dutta states that he is unable to distribute the APK he has created as it is currently against the terms of the beta SDK.<br />
