Sony rumored to reveal full-frame NEX-FF on September 24th
Sony is said to be preparing to announce a full frame version of its NEX line of compact system cameras, one that is slightly larger than the NEX-7. The tentatively-titled NEX-FF will be unveiled on September 24th, according to a leak, with the digital imaging device claimed to be the most compact digital interchangeable mount Full Frame camera in the world.
Sources of Sony Alpha Rumors say that the company has worked on the project for the last two years in secret, with Sony-Zeiss also said to be collaborating with Olympus on the camera. The NEX-FF is also said to have five-axis image stabilization from Olympus, and will be accompanied at launch by two Zeiss FF lenses, though the report is still seeking confirmation on this. Current versions of E-mount lenses will also apparently work with the NEX-FF, though in crop mode.
While details are light, it is suggested that the NEX-FF will cost similar to the RX1 and RX1R series cameras for the body alone, putting it at around $3,000. More details of the camera are expected to surface shortly before its expected launch date.
