Comcast has relaunched its Internet Essentials program for low-income families and individuals. The $10 service, now in its third year, will expand eligibility to include private, cyberschool, and home-schooled students, streamline the enrolment process, and increased the speed of the service to a maximum of 5Mbps downstream and up to 1Mbps upstream. Since its launch, Comcast Internet Essentials has helped more than 220,000 families, and an estimated 900,000 individuals by providing Internet access.
