Ellison's controversial interview extends beyond Apple to Google, NSA
Larry Ellison's CBS interview broadcast earlier today, with more controversial contents from the billionaire. Speaking to Charlie Rose on <em>CBS This Morning,</em> in addition to comments about the <a href="" rel='nofollow'>eventual demise</a> of Apple post-Steve Jobs, the Oracle CEO accused Google CEO Larry Page of acting "absolutely evil" in the <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Google versus Oracle</a> Java trial. Furthermore, Ellison called the recently revealed <a href=" systems/" rel='nofollow'>NSA surveillance program</a> as "absolutely essential" for national security, and laid out a very narrow parameter where he would be disturbed by it.<br />
<br />
"We just think they took our stuff, and that was wrong," Ellison said in the interview. When asked if he thought that Page himself was evil, Ellison clarified that he thought that "what they did was absolutely evil" and blames Page "100 percent" for the suit and its resolution.<br />

Oracle lists the US Government as one of its largest contractors, and suppliers of database software and management. When asked about the NSA surveillance of both foreign communications and US citizens, Ellison said that he though it was "great". He added that "By the way, President Obama thinks its essential. It's essential if we want to minimize the kind of strikes we had in Boston. It's absolutely essential."<br />

So essential that we couldn't stop the Boston bombing, with Russia handing us Tsarnaev on a silver platter...

All the technology and data gathering in the world is useless if it has to rely on the competence of government employees from the faceless bureaucracies of the ever-growing executive branch.

Of course Larry's going to praise government surveillance. Oracle's roots are in the CIA and the company's been in bed with the gov't since its inception.

It's essential to Oracles bottom line that the US gov't keeps monitoring all us potential terrorists, because it needs lots and lots of Oracle hardware and consulting to keep the monitoring going smoothly.

Larry needs a few new boats for the America's Cup race...

Probably there were more striking attempts in the past than just the Boston bombing alone and they were stopped before it happened. These things we are not going to hear them on CNN or anywhere else. We only hear the bad news. I was watching a documentary long ago about post 9/11. It was amazing how government were able to stop other big and small target strikings in U.S soil. The last thing I want is frequent bombing in my neighborhoods like in Israel and other middle east/European countries and start living in fear.
