According to the lawsuit filed August 8, workers suffer through mandatory shifts of up to 15 hours per day, and have only 32 seconds to assemble a smartphone, with just twice that allowed to manufacture a television.<br />

Samsung has not taken legal action in Brazil yet, saying that they will do so "as soon as they are officially notified." A statement by the company claims that "we are committed to offering our collaborators around the world a work environment that ensures the highest standards when it comes to safety, health and well-being."<br />

The Manuas Free Trade Zone Samsung factory makes the majority of the devices available in North and South America. The facility employs 6,000 people. The suit is asking for $108 million in damages from the company for the labor law violations.
